The short version
We ask for one thing: your email. We use it to hold your spot on the waitlist and to tell you when you can get Tastebuds. We never sell it and never use it for ads.
Who we are
Tastebuds is made by [COMPANY NAME], [COUNTRY]. For anything about your data, write to [CONTACT EMAIL].
What we collect
- Your email address. That's all we ask you for.
- Who invited you, if you came through a friend's link (their invite code), so we know how people find Tastebuds and can count the Buds each person brings.
- Technical details sent with any web request: your IP address, a rough location worked out from it (country and city), and the site you came from. Our waitlist service uses these to stop fake sign-ups.
What we use it for
- To hold your spot and give you your own invite link.
- To count the friends who joined through your link (your Buds). We show you how many, never who.
- To email you about your spot and when Tastebuds is ready for you. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We don't show your email to anyone. On your spot page we greet you with the part before the @ (for example "ben"), and your invite link includes it so friends know who invited them. Only you and the people you share your link with see it.
One thing to know: entering an email that's already on the list shows that spot (the number, the count of Buds and the invite link), the same way it shows you yours. So someone who already knows your email could see your spot. It never shows anyone's email or who they invited.
Who holds it
The waitlist runs on Waitlister (Lemon Tree Ventures, LLC, United States). They store the list for us on Google Cloud in the United States and act only on our instructions, under a data processing agreement. If you're in the EU or UK, your data goes to the United States under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The site itself is hosted on [HOSTING, e.g. Vercel]. We don't use analytics or ad trackers right now. If we add analytics, it will count visits and clicks, never your email, and we'll update this page first.
On your phone or computer
When you join, this site saves your spot number, how many Buds joined, your invite code and your first name in your browser, so your spot page can show them. Nothing else, and no tracking cookies. Clearing your browser data removes it.
How long we keep it
Until [e.g. 6 months after Tastebuds launches], or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Your choices
You can ask to see your data, correct it, or delete it at any time: write to [CONTACT EMAIL]. Deleting it takes you off the waitlist. You can unsubscribe from our emails with one tap.
Ages
The waitlist is for people aged 13 and up. If you're under 13, please don't sign up. If we learn that someone under 13 has, we'll delete their email.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll email you first.
